Awareness

Ignorance and indifference are the main reasons for excessive waste generation and mismanagement of waste. The antidote is awareness. Raising awareness can alter perspectives and develop the will to act for the better.

At ZERO WASTE LADAKH, we devote time and energy to collating and sharing information on waste- and environment-related issues. Our primary tools for knowledge dissemination are our website, blogs, photographs, documentary films, and social media. We also deliver talks, participate in conferences and webinars, and spread awareness through mass media. Apart from these, we have a long-term campaign called ‘Bring your own bag,’ whose objective is to phase out single-use carry bags by reviving the tradition of taking one’s own bag to shop.
