Managing waste effectively requires the involvement of the local community and creating value out of waste.

At ZERO WASTE LADAKH, we draw on the power of local self-help groups for upcycling fabric waste into sustainable products. To skill the self-help groups in upcycling fabric waste, we have developed a 200 hr certificate program, which includes waste collection, segregation, product-making, and marketing. The training is free, our idea being to bring forth community participation in waste management. Post-training, we continue to extend our guidance to the trained self-help groups, facilitating them to generate income using their new skill.
